The current news is that my website isn't working too well! If you would like to order something or get information, please call me directly, 330-887-1613 or email to bdabbs@earthlink.net with something about decoys in the subject line so I can fish you out of my spamblocker. Hopefully I'll be back to normal on the site soon!

February 5-18 will find me back at the Florida State Fair, carving at their living history program in Cracker Country. This will be my 14th year there, working under the beautiful live oaks and surrounded by old historic buildings and costumed demonstrators and docents depicting early Florida rural life. A new working farm field and log cabin being erected on site make this an educational treat in the middle of the State Fair. Veterans of the Grand Ole Opry, Southern Star Bluegrass are my world-class house band for this event, making it one of my favorites. We're open from 9 until 7 Fridays Saturdays and Sundays and 9 until 6 all other days, at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa. See what else is going on at www.floridastatefair.com

February 26-March 8 finds me on the second leg of my Living History Tour at the Strawberry Festival's Pioneer Village in Plant City, Florida. From 10 until 5 daily costumed interpreters demonstrate traditional trades and ways of life, from blacksmithing, weaving, old tool demonstrations and of course, decoy carving. Southern Star plays at 5:30 making them the happy hour at the end of my day. Have a look at www.flstrawberryfestival.com

The Great Lakes Historical Society exhibit, "The Work and Collection of Laurel Dabbs" wrapped up this summer at their Inland Seas Maritime Museum in Vermilion Ohio. I hope to put together a new exhibit for them of Shorebirds and marsh life and will add details as they become available. They are a first-rate maritime museum and Shipwreck Research Center, see what they're all about at www.inlandseas.org

Hope to see you somewhere along the way!!
